General Motors Boiler House and Tank Farm
Over the last several years, we have provided General Motors with responsive and sharp engineering services. We have completed a multitude of projects for the automotive giant including this boiler power house upgrade. The boiler power house provides General Motors with all the necessary utilities needed for their routine operations. The scope of work included the construction of two cooling towers (30 tonnes each), foundations for new compressors, new platforms for mechanical/electrical equipment and pipe supports, and a new pipe rack to connect the existing boiler house to the body plant. Our team also designed a new tank farm and an upgrade of the existing pump house. This required us to compose detailed designs of a large mat foundation for eight new fuel tanks with capacities ranging from 50 to 120 m³ . The tank farm was completely enclosed by a concrete dike in order to contain any spillage.
